The political explosion surrounding the American Embassy is a sort of Checkpoint Charlie in the heat of the day, where it’s impossible to get away from the ideological clash of anti-American banners, black flags, the space between the Malecón and the corporate solitude of the US base. The plaques in the pillars of the Anti-Imperialist Tribune pay homage to outstanding artists and novelists who have upheld Cuba and its Revolution.
