In my life as an artist, Consulado and Virtudes was very important for many years. In 1990, my company was rehearsing in La Madriguera, sharing the space with other groups and activities. A few days before a debut, frazzled, I ran into Héctor Quintero, at that time Director of Dance and Theater, and he told me: The Alhambra Salon is empty. Nobody wants it because it’ s too hot... and in that locale, at the old Havana Music Theater, we rehearsed until August 2007, sometimes with temperatures of up to 40º.
