He wanted to fly MiGs like his father. But a head-hunter from La Maison discovered him playing basket ball in his hometown of Nuevo Vedado at the age of 17, and at 24, at this Fashion Week, to everyone (male and female alike) he is just ‘el guapo’, owing to his haughty attitude on the catwalk. Perhaps it is because on stage he has played the celebrated Cuban pimp Alberto Yarini.
Because Yulier also studies Theater. His teacher Humberto Rodríguez, who has trained actors such as Perugorría and Luis Alberto Garcia, thinks he will make it big. But this young model is in no hurry; although he likes film, he knows that only theater will make him an authentic actor.
Model? Something temporary… which helped me with stage fright.
