When, in 2006, Prográfica voted him most distinguished young designer on the island, they were already recognising a whole journey. Graduated in 1998 in computer design, this young illustrator who has won many prizes and has an impressive curriculum is not only an expert in user interface design for multimedia and websites but he also cultivates humour and advertising. Together with his group "Chameleon", he represents a new generation of cartoonists, the inheritors of Rostgaard, Muñoz Bachs or Azcuy, masters of the golden period of Cuban graphics in the 60s, 70s and 80s... Teaching in the Institute of Industrial Design is another of his passions. “It keeps me up to date and close to the body of dynamic theory that is so important for our work.” Nelson is currently working at the Casa de las Américas where, together with the maestro Pepe Menéndez, he is a crucial element of the organisation’s new image.
